الحِبّ بكسر الحاء هو الحبيب أو المحبوب.
والحُبّ بضم الحاء هو الوداد والتعلق القلبي بشخص آخر. أحيانا نقول للمحبوب أنه هو الحُبّ نفسه (يا حُبِّي) وهذا من باب المجاز المرسل.
